Good afternoon, Synapse Circuit Readers! How are you today? The beautiful sunshine in the UK has gone and the wonderful autumn rain has cooled the proceedings somewhat. I like it! It’s good to have seasons!

CONGRATULATIONS TO GOOGLE WITH OVER 1 BILLION ANDROID ACTIVATIONS AND COUNTING! WELL DONE!
Do you know what this means? I will tell you... It means that you - as an Android user looking over the shoulder of an iPad user (I won’t say iPhone because you can’t see much on their small screen hee hee hee) – will be able to download more quality applications for your handset and tablet. An area that certainly isn’t lacking on Android is the ability to make some music! There are so many fantastic apps available such as FL Studio and now I am pleased to announce that...

...MAGIX MUSIC MAKER JAM IS NOW AVAILABLE AT THE GOOGLE PLAY STORE!
Check this out...

Yesterday, 5th September 2013, MAGIX AG, One of the leading international providers of software, online services, and digital content, has announced that MAGIX Music Maker Jam is now available for free on Google Play.

The operating concept has been specifically adapted to the Android control to ensure a particularly intuitive and familiar handling. The app automatically detects whether it is being used on a tablet or a smartphone. An improved user interface has been developed specifically for the much smaller screens of mobile phones, providing maximum ease of use in the minimum space. In addition, users of the Android version can enjoy a free content package with four different music styles: Hip Hop Vol. 1, Dance, Electric Jazz, and Rock Ballads. Users also gain access to other music styles that can be bought in the app.
A highlight of the Android version release is its new "shake feature." By shaking the device, random loops will replace what you’ve been working with. This little bit of random activity is a great way to push past a creative block. Other functions include touch and swipe controls of the soundboard as well as easy recording, exporting, and sharing of user created tracks.

App Highlights and Included Features:

·         Four free music styles with professionally produced loops: Hip Hop, Dance, Rock, and Jazz

·         A step sequencer which allows for easy harmony adjustment

·         The ability to record/edit songs in real time while adding sound enhancing effects

·         An eight-track 8 loop mixer for easy, complete song mixing

·         A board which provides clear overview of all tracks selected including defined song details.

·         Customizable background images

·         A "shake" function to explore new loops

·         A "tilt" function to adjust saturation levels on the effects board

·         The ability to combine different styles of music with the loop selector

·         The ability to record and live edit tracks, save as an audio file, and share with friends

Music Maker Jam is available for free in the Google Play Store right now!

SHAKE OFF YOUR BEAT JOLLIES!
If you have been following my articles you will know that I am a reluctant PC user. What? You haven’t been following? Shame on you! Let me quickly tell you why I have become a reluctant PC user...

The main reason is that Microsoft seems unable to deliver a near flawless operating system and that it costs so much too! There’s an annoying inconsistency with Microsoft that just makes me want to shake their programmers by the neck! My problems have stemmed from maintenance updates that has either caused my system to crash or render it inoperable and that’s just not on! Other than that I do enjoy the great variety of software that is out there for Windows based PCs and, when I have the time, I love using Magix Music Maker Premium (I go for the premium version because it gives you so much more professional music making options). It is good to see that a Magix music program has finally made it to Android. I would love an Android version of the Music Maker concept so that I may save my compositions as MIDI file and bring it into Music Maker Premium on my PC for further composition / editing.

However, with Music Maker Jam I had a lot of fun playing around with it! I find that it is less complicated than something like FL Studio and it is very useful for experimenting with musical composition. I downloaded it onto my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 last night and had a real blast!

Be aware that it is a hefty but worth it application at just a little over 60 MB, so make sure you are using Wi-Fi!
It’s designed for tablets too! Check it out! Get some music in your life!

Recommended!

Take good care!
