It’s great that Samsung have received over 20 million pre-orders for the Galaxy S6 & S6 Edge! I’m certainly among that 20 million-odd as I want the Pearl White Galaxy S6 Edge! Ooooh, now I have to wait sooooooo, soooooooo long before I can have it! Ah! That’s life!

Jony Ive reckons that iPhone users wouldn’t want a bigger battery as it would add some bulk to the handset. But he didn’t design the thing to feature a removable battery to help matters. Ive suggests that the iPhone is so wonderful to use that people use it so very often that the battery is run flat within a couple of hours. It’s the same with the 6 Plus even though the battery is bigger and so that leaves the market open for extended battery cases and / sticks.

However, Samsung has been very, very considerate to the user with regards to the battery.

1. The battery has been removable since the first Galaxy S.

2. The batteries have been worked upon to make them charge in a shorter time frame. My Galaxy Note 2 takes ages to charge compared to my Note 4.

3. The battery within the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge has been further optimized (for faster charging) and includes wireless charging that I am sure will become a feature in coffee shops, restaurants and so on.

Why hasn’t Apple been able to do something with the battery along those lines? Normally I would find it strange but that is an Apple hallmark: it doesn’t create or invent they just remodel and drive the consumer to the iTunes. Just imagine how many more $ billion$ could be made if iPhone users were able to use their phones for longer. In time (pun intended) Apple will approach a manufacturer specializing in battery technologies to make the iPhone last longer.

Apple also likes to dictate to the consumer to hide that they can’t create or invent. “No! You like a smaller screen size! Android devices are bad! Keep away! Be afraid... Be very afraid...” Even now Apple haven’t managed to enable iOS to manage the full 1080p HD resolution in the standard or 6 Plus; Apple don’t know how to scale up to HD. Apparently they have poached some key Samsung players in screen technology. Well, that’s good for the dedicated iPhone follower!

Now Apple wants the Apple Watch user to use the apps within 10 seconds! Now talk about having the time! To think that Ive has been quoted to say, “Bad design is offensive...” Indeed... Digital Clowns!

TECHNOLOGICAL?
What you are going to see more often are claims that “Apple has beaten Samsung to become the largest mobile producer in the world...” But think about it... Apple only does 2 handsets: iPhone 6 & 6 Plus. Samsung on the other hand... I wouldn’t like to hazard a guess as its output is massive! Sure, Apple has broken the Chinese market for the first time and this surge for a taste of the all American Apple pie may prove to be short-lived as I mentioned in my other article that I wrote straight from my Galaxy S4 into the full Google Blogger website (I wish Google would sort out the Blogger app). iPhone 6 & 6 Plus Dumped in favour of the Galaxy S6 & S6 Edge

Yes, you will see these illogical claims by the Apple biased media throughout the year as the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge break sales records around the globe. Samsung has shown that they can do “premium” like no other and do a superb futuristic design with the Galaxy S6 Edge.

iDIOT MEDIA
A friend sent me a link to this video by a so called tech video magazine... You would be forgiven by thinking that this outlet is up-to-date with the latest technology but no... And to think they have a mass audience! Gosh! How on Earth is that possible??? Even though there is meant to be some humour in this video its underlying message is based upon idiocy! Let’s take the crap apart to see what you have ingested! Lol!

5. IT’S NOT A SMARTWATCH...


Uh, duh! Why would anyone want to get a smartwatch over a brilliant handset like the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge? I wanna see the "presenter" watch a 4K YouTube video on his Apple Watch or any other smartwatch!

4. SEALED BATTERY...


Hello? Anyone there? The battery has been updated so that it can last 4 hours from a 10 minute charge! Do that with an iPhone battery! A non-removable battery is not a reason to give the Galaxy S6 & S6 Edge a miss!

3. GET A GALAXY NOTE 4 INSTEAD...


Well, not everyone wants a large screen handset. Me? I love them! However, the Galaxy Note 4 is not 64-bit (at least not in the UK) and if you are due an upgrade come April 10 2015 you just might want to get hold of the latest and greatest! I own a Galaxy Note 4 and I will own a Galaxy S6 Edge too! I am a serious user! Lol!

2. GET AN LG G FLEX 2 INSTEAD...


Hang on a minute... Didn’t the, er, “presenter” state that the reason why you shouldn’t get the Galaxy S6 / S6 Edge is because it contains a non-removable battery??? Guess what? The G Flex 2 features a non-removable battery! Also you haven’t seen or read an extensive review on how the G Flex 2 performs with the Qualcomm 810 chip that Samsung passed on!

1. HOW ABOUT LAST YEAR’S GALAXY S5...


I think there is a technical term for this guy... NUTS!

Seriously, the Galaxy S5 is a great handset – especially if you lead an active lifestyle i.e. you like jog, visit the gym, etc. The water resistance is great! However, the chances of you dropping your Galaxy S6 / S6 Edge in water are minimal as you won’t stick it in your unfastened breast-pocket, go to the toilet and lean over for it to drop in the bowl. When you place it in your jean or jacket pocket you are going to make sure that it is secure so it won’t fall out. My pockets are zipped or fastened shut so in the instance that I have to run for a bus, for example, my handsets aren’t flying out on the streets!

Again, the 64-bit processor in the Galaxy S6 / S6 Edge is 50% faster than the processor in the Galaxy S5 and that means you can play CPU intensive games without a stutter and that the whole user experience will be better for not having that “lag” associated with the heavy TouchWiz skin!

Notice that the “presenter” didn’t mention not having a microSD card slot because the iPhone doesn’t have it either! But the iPhone can’t make use of USB-OTG (on the go) devices. Here’s what someone said regarding using one of these devices...

“So, must I leave the USB-OTG flash drive in my phone all day? Lol!”

It’s as though technology has made some people stupid! If you think that you need to use all 64GB of external storage all day then by all means leave it in there!

IN CLOSING...
Don’t be fooled by these so called tech-media nonsense! I understand that some subjectivity can come into the equation when pointing out one’s favourite features of any technology but you have to qualify subjectivity with objectivity i.e. some comparison on the competition and not some “top 5” listing that doesn’t make any sense whatsoever!

My job as consumer technology writer is to show you my decision making on products based on good old fashioned sound reasoning that anyone can understand. It’s not my thing to actually tell you what to buy! And it’s good when I get challenged on my reviews too! Sometimes I am put in positions where I have to defend and there are times when I’ve made a genuine mistake. But above all my motivations to write isn’t money oriented. No company is going to pay me to push its products when I know that other products are better – in my humble opinion!

Or should that be ‘bent’? Goodhour, Synapse Circuit Readers! How are you? I hope that you are tip top and that your projects are going exceptionally well! What? You mean to tell me that you don’t have a project? With this beautiful tech at your disposal you mean to tell me that you aren’t doing anything with it? Well,
I guess I ought to ramp up the reviews! Believe me... ...they are coming!

I think it’s pretty safe to state that Apple is going through a tough time of late. Dare I say that things will pick up; lessons should have been learned – we can only hope so! Whether you like it or not I have exposed Apple and its freaky hypnotic PR machine that includes the collection of tech media around the world pretending to be independent both on and offline i.e. TV magazine-like programmes that places Apple on top of the competition! Paper magazines geared towards general technology and specifically mobile devices have done exactly the same thing: placing Apple product on top! I had noticed something very fishy from the Samsung Galaxy S2 and that made me look into what was going on... I reckon I opened up the eyes of others and also confirmed what others had started to notice too!

I am one of the few independent writers that clocks when the wheels fall off that juggernaut of that Apple bus and here I am doing it again!

FALLIBLE!
I think what has happened to Apple is a good thing! Once again, I find myself using the analogy of the Karate Kid movies whereby that awful annoying blonde kid is Apple and the Karate Kid is the competition! Hahaha! It’s true! The lengths that Apple will go to ensure the world thinks,”iSomething” is scarily astounding! Apple loves to divide and conquer! “I’m and Apple...” “And... ...I’m a PC...”

“We’ve been robbed! Someone has come into our house and stolen our technology!! Watch out for inferior copies of our products!!!”

“If someone does everything then what is left for us to do? Feel sorry for us and buy our products...”

“Er... Uhm... We’ve done a phablet! Whoohoo! It’s not quite as good as the originators but at least now you have a landscape mode! That it comes from us, the 6 Plus, you should buy it! Yay!”

You know what they say about imitation... Ha ha!

It is said that under Jobs ‘Bendgate’ wouldn’t have happened but I am not so sure... A great possibility is that Apple would have eventually become bankrupt through losing patent battles outside the USA! They did use Obama to overturn a vital Samsung victory! Apple wouldn’t have been in any position to release a handset beyond 5S! And still to this day there is no confirmation that 5C was a success. I predicted that both the 5S and 5C weren’t going to be the greatest sellers of that time.

Or it could be that Jobs would have been ousted yet again from his own company in order to save it from his death dive with Google in his jaws. Jobs or not it was clear then and now that Apple has to up its game big time – literally! In order to maintain some credibility the tech media has had to admit to Apple being way behind Android handsets but as always many find a way to have the iPhone and iPad edge out a little. This fools nobody but iDevice fanatics.

I don’t know about you but I started to clock a pattern that occurs before and after an Apple keynote! Let me show – if you haven’t seen it...

BEFORE...
In the run up to the next iPhone we get to see a bunch of “leaked” images that factory workers allegedly “sneaked out”. Apple can’t say outright that it, in this recent case, is going to release a bigger handset simply because it looks like defeat (because it is). As a result the constant “leaks” starts to feed the collective populous mind. It works two ways:-

A: The iPhone fan will get it into his / her head that, despite Apple’s scientific research and painful design ethos, what they really wanted was a bigger handset. That’s right, iPhone fan; it’s YOU that’s driving Apple against its principles! But, obviously, it’s really Apple!

B: Non-iPhone users will be expecting to see a larger iPhone – in this case two – and it won’t come as a surprise.

Now that you are thinking in the “right” direction you will see the usual suspects holding physical parts of the iPhone and blogging / vlogging about them... “If this... If that...” These blogger / vloggers may or may not realize that they are part of the PR machine ramping expectations, excitement and curiosity. These tech bloggers / vloggers are help to keep you guessing. Whether you’re a fan or not it becomes a part of your consciousness.

DURING...
During the keynote the expectations reaches a fever pitch so much so that some of us momentarily forget about the competition (as this is the purpose) and focus upon the wonderful gifts that Cook is about to bestow... This is how Cook is able to make the new products seem as the inventions of Apple when in fact they are anything but. We know this. We also know that when Apple reveals a new iPhone or phones they’ll be in the shops soon after!

Oh, one more thing... The reveal of another device; I thought it was going to be either a smartwatch or iPad or both! I feel that because the iPhone is seriously lagging behind Android handsets Cook and co quickly defocuses onto something else. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a “free” U2 album and the Apple Watch – complete with the “Digital Crown”. And it gets worse... ...the Apple Watch is coming sometime next year. How many smartwatches have Samsung released in a year?

AFTER...
We get to see a standard aftermath...

1. News of people queuing up outside Apple stores for days when they don’t have to. The only thing different about the queue reports this time around are that some of the people queuing are looking to sell their places to the real fanatics!

2. News of record sales... Every time there is news of record sales and then later on we see a different result.

3. Odd headlines to state that a record number of seemingly only Samsung trade-ins and that many Android folk are jumping ship! Get onboard before you look silly! Ha ha! But it turns out that the buyers are repeat customers of Apple. I don’t think repeat customers aren’t enough hence the larger iPhone handsets to make some more gains. If Android has over 80% of the world market then where does it leave Apple? It is clear that Apple needs some more sales!

GOSH! THAT’S NUFF GLITCHES!

Putting such a large phone in your pocket is assking for trouble!

I can only imagine a rabid Tim Cook cursing like it’s going out of fashion over “bendgate”. Could this derail further sales? If the prices for these new fangled iPhones aren’t off-putting then perhaps the fragility of the products will; however it appears – through independent testing – the standard iPhone 6 isn’t so easy to bend.

A bizarre thought entered my head... Could it be that the fragility of the 6 Plus was designed as a get out of failure clause? I mean if it turns out that the iPhone user prefers the standard over the Plus Apple could say that the “bendgate” scare was a major cause (for disappointing sales). Maybe the newly acquired designer can redesign the iPhone for today’s market as Android keeps blazing the trail for innovation. Once upon a time Cook would claim “fragmentation” regarding those “other guys” when it is apparent that iOS has scaling issues when it comes to the development for apps; this is why the standard iPhone has an odd resolution: 750 x 1334 pixels. It seems as though iOS developers have their work cut out to reach Android app scaling standards so that one day iPhone users will enjoy QHD screens!

Then there are issues with iOS 8! To be honest whenever there’s an operating system upgrade there are opportunities for bugs but considering Apple have only a few handsets to take care of that upgrading iOS should be a chinch! Android is a huge contrast with regards to the sheer number of handsets it has to take care of! Is it any wonder that Google takes its time with Android updates?

HUMBLE (APPLE) PIE

Ouch! That's gotta hurt! 

As I was saying... I think these unfortunate occurrences can be good for Apple as I would imagine that Cook and co can relax and not have to worry about having to be this infallible machine. Humans are behind Apple and humans can make mistakes. However, it’s how the mistakes are dealt with that makes all the difference. Apple has, in the past, used various techniques to deflect the blame when things have gone wrong. You can fool some of the people some of the time...

Apple has a great opportunity to turn things around! There’s nothing like admitting fault and refocusing. You know for yourself that when someone can’t admit to being at fault that you can’t trust he / she won’t make the same mistake(s) again.

I would love to see Apple making good product that don’t need the smoke ‘n’ mirrors nonsense. I would also like to see them making an effort to be more like Google in the way they create products across the mobile device platforms. Apple Pay is just a step backwards for NFC payments that we’ll stick to using our credit / debit cards. C’mon, Apple! Show us some of that gigantic big, big love!

That’s something to think about!

SAY, WHAT???
Yes, that’s right! You read correctly: Apple and the so called tech-media think that we’re stupid! Yes, you as an iPhone user and us Android users! As a tech journalist I have been following Apple, Samsung, Google, Microsoft, etc. And what has emerged is a strong pattern with regards to any Apple keynote and the launching of new tech such as the latest iPhone models which comes across to me as déjà vu! What do I mean? Glad you asked! I will tell you!

I have observed since the launch of the iPhone 5S – especially - that there was a “record pre-order” only to learn further down the line that actual sales targets were not met. And as a result the value for Apple stock went down. Hmmmm... Maybe, just maybe that the “record pre-orders” were genuine but weren’t fulfilled in the end... Perhaps there was a change of heart for another device... ...The Galaxy Note 3?

This year it’s as though the headlines have been recycled! Yet again there is another “record pre-order” for the iPhone 6 and 6L! It is said that they are on target for 100 million units to be sold at the end of the month! Did I read it right? Really??? Again, I suspect that later on – perhaps early next year – the real figures will be revealed! I can hardly wait! This I have to see! As usual, I am not taken in by such phoney headlines! This is the Apple PR machine kicking into first gear!
DISTURBING?
It is so very disturbing to see how the Apple PR machine works even though I have witnessed it before. However, we must keep our wits about us! Have you noticed that all of a sudden there are “security issues” with Android? Coincidence? I don’t think so! Have you also noticed that Android is constantly “plagued with malware”? What’s funny is that these reports do not list the malware posing as apps! Lol! Whenever there is an iOS vs. Android discussion an iPhone fan boy (it’s usually a boy) brings up the issue of malware and when I ask for specific apps it brings about the end of that discussion and they go on to the next argument. Guys ‘n’ gals: I have 8 Android devices and I have never experienced a malware issue! Three of my Android handsets are rooted and there is no malware (touch wood) in sight!

So, I guess that these “reports” (sic) are meant to scare would be iPhone defectors from defecting! Trust me, if there was malware on my Android devices I will know about it! And, for your information, any mobile device and operating system is open for all sorts of potential nasties in the form of malware, ransomeware, viruses, etc! As long as there is a system to exploit someone or some people will have a go!

Where Android apps are concerned I do like to support developers by making a purchase and I have yet (touch wood) experienced unexplained / unauthorized monies being removed from my account. I can tell you that when people download illegal copies of apps and access “free porn” is when the chances of being opened to privacy and security breaches increases. Yes, some dodgy apps do make it onto the Google Play Store and is removed as soon as it is detected / discovered. Then there are the “free apps” that relies upon “in-app-purchases” as a revenue stream; both Apple and Google have had to refund shocked and angry parents whose children have managed to run up enormous bills without realizing that funds are being removed from Mommy’s and / or Daddy’s of credit / debit cards. The children felt as though they were paying with the equivalent of Monopoly money! So, if anything that’s where or what the actual “malware” is. Some apps are what I call “baitware”! By that (baitware) I mean the app requires some purchases to extend the usability / advanced functions. Nothing necessarily wrong with that business model but it would be so much better if the developers were more upfront; there again some people would give the app a miss!

Please let me know if you have been the victim of malware, ransomeware, etc. But even downloading official freeware on the PC / Mac can lead you to accidentally downloading malware, spyware, etc. I have to reveal that one of the biggest Apple biased tech media out there is CNet! CNet has a site called CNet Downloads and it is crap! The amount of times I have downloaded “freeware” only to discover that it’s trying to take over my browser preferences, etc. It's double standards!

THE APPLE BUSINESS MODEL IN ONE WORD: EXPLOITATION
I read a headline: Cook takes Google’s model apart in a paragraph (or two)! Basically, Tim Cook goes on about the issue of privacy and how Google will scan emails, for example, to find keywords that will deliver appropriate ads straight to the user and how the users are the commodity. But Google never made this a secret! Google have announced its intentions and I don’t mind at all! It’s not as if people are sitting there spying on my email - nobody is reading it word for word! Plus I use Gmail mainly for business communications. Not only that, Edward Snowden cannot return to the USA because he let it be known that Apple, Google and Microsoft have complied with Intelligent Agencies spying on the digital output mobile devices and computers. What did Eric Schmidt say? “If you are doing something that you shouldn't be doing then maybe you shouldn't be doing it...” That’s an indication, to me at least, that we are being spied upon! If I wrote a keyword that is associated with a breach of national / international security within an email, blog, etc then a computer algorithm will flag it for investigation. I can live with that as I would imagine and certainly hope that such flags can prevent horrendous acts of terror! But I am not convinced about anything Tim Cook says regarding privacy; he, at the end of the day, is a salesman and he wants you to buy an iPhone 6 or 6L.

I have summed up Apple’s business model in one word ‘exploitation’. He’s taking you for a mug in that he can put out a couple of lacklustre handsets and make people pay over the odds for them! Hey, if that’s what you want to do... ...no problem! It’s your money! Well, it’s now Apple’s! Ha ha!

APPLE’S RACKET SCIENCE
As you know, what Apple is good at is hijacking the ideas of others and claiming it as its own. It’s done that with the development of iOS and interactive notifications and now bigger screens and NFC payments. Look at all the (thou protesteth too much) unwillingness to give the iPhone a bigger screen with all the “science” behind the decision until now! Look at how contradictory that is! Look at how contradictory to have McDonald’s in its Apple Pay scheme when there is a focus on health! It’s laughable! "Warning: You have consumed 2 Big Macs and the only walking you have done today is to McDonalds..."

It is possible that the Apple Pay NFC payment revolution might just roll off the cliff of technological doom and be a relic of failed technology? There is a reason why NFC payments haven’t exactly taken off! Here in the UK we can touch our handsets on the London Underground to pay for our train fare. Given the fact that there is more chance of dropping the handset or having someone snatching it from your hands it is not very practical. NFC is great for transferring files to others with the capability! I would rather use a cheap bracelet to make payments in that manner than to take out my expensive Galaxy Note Edge (I wish) and risk dropping it or have it stolen!

Then the Apple Racket Science is aided and abetted by these so called tech media... ...oh my goodness... The idiotic reviews that I have seen on the iPhone 6 & 6L in comparison to Samsung handsets beggars belief! It’s madness!

The reviews are so, so stupid it is unreal... In one review the “reviewer” (sic) is stating how the Galaxy Alpha’s metal edge “cuts the users fingers off”! What??? And how “wonderful the iPhone design is” in comparison to the Galaxy Alpha... Uh-uh... “The back of the Galaxy Alpha is made of 80s recycled plastic gadgets...” I am paraphrasing but I am not far off! But nothing can be further from the truth! The fact is that I have held the Galaxy Alpha in my hands and I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised at how good it looked and felt! The reviewer went on to say how much the "battery has improved" with the iPhone 6 and everyone knows that a fresh battery is like a newlywed; give it some time and you will see how the life drains out of it in everyday use! Maybe a "newlywed" was a bad analogy but you get the meaning! Every battery is like that – including that of Android devices! But I know that Samsung handsets feature a removable battery and that is a boon unlike the fixed battery of the iPhone!

Now Steve Wozniak has gotten in on the act by saying that he has "ditched" his “beloved” Android handsets for the bigger screen iPhones! Hahaha! Wow, things must be bad if Apple have to rope in the Good Steve to sell it! The 6L is in danger of failing target sales and Apple are pulling out all the stops to sell a few 6L units and to stop iPhone users from defecting to the Galaxy Note 4. It’s not just about bigger screens...

Another reviewer says that even though the iPhone 6L screen is “not as sharp or bright as the LG G3 or the Galaxy Note 4 and Edge it’s still a good screen...” Hahahaha! He or she went on to say, “...the 6L enables me to get work done without resorting to any of the many computers” at his or her disposal. OK, so that tells me that all the hype about the smaller 3.5” and 4” iPhones was exactly that: HYPE!!! I can tell you that as an Android user there are days when I don’t turn on my PC because I am able to get my work done on my Android handsets! The reviewer wasn’t finished...

“The Galaxy Note split screen is just a gimmick; the 6L screen is nice and big which cuts out the need for the iPad...”

WOW!!! Can you believe that nonsense??? The Galaxy Note 3 (and the upcoming 4 and Edge) split screen is far from being a “gimmick”! Imagine cutting out an image from a website and dragging it into the email app and sending it on! Oh, what’s the matter? You can’t imagine it? That’s because you are not using the Galaxy Note! Simple!

But at least the reviewer (hee hee) has had to concede that in "landscape mode it's not as good" and that typing in that mode "is not satisfying"! Admittedly, landscape mode isn't that great on some Android handsets too! Portrait mode is always the best for word processing for example. 

No doubt that you will enjoy the 6L screen and in turn you will be more productive without resorting to a Macbook (or any other computer) and you will probably bypass upgrading your iPad Air this year as a result. Hey! That's an idea! Sell your iPad Air to help pay for the 6L! But the 6L is no match for the Galaxy Note 3 let alone the latest versions, 4 & Edge when it comes to productivity and hardware! The iPhone 6L is outgunned!

What I have gleaned from those, er... ...”reviewers” / propaganda creators is that the Samsung products are superior because they have to play up the iPhone shortfalls and dismiss the great advantages that can be had from the Galaxy Note and Galaxy handsets in general. This is definitely not journalism. They are certainly not words one can take seriously as a consumer.

There is a reason why Apple shares went down in value after the Samsung reveal and that’s because they have put out superior products whether you like it or not!

That’s something to think about!
