RAZR i!

MOTOROLA + INTEL = RAZR i
PROOF OF TECH MEDIA BIAS TOWARDS THE iPHONE PART 2

More subliminal messages from…

… TECHNOLOGY SHOW!
Another dodgy and cheap headline that says the iPhone 5 is the handset to beat… Hahahahaha!

Motorola RAZR i hands on preview: Can Intel Inside kill the iPhone 5?

You know that answer to that one: Dead and buried! I’m kidding! But Apple had its chance and for the sake of petty litigation they missed out on a great opportunity! I spoke to an iPhone user today who has 4 – not the 4S and has no plans to upgrade to 5 (6)! Ok, it’s one person… I am still not convinced that it has sold out! The Usual Suspects are saying so, but I truly doubt it! Never mind… I guess it’s one way to try and salvage the mess! Still, I am looking forward to seeing the devotees camping outside the shop!

I bet that the Technology Show hasn’t taken a look at the iPhone 5! I guess they don’t need to… Wink, wink… Ha ha!

Here’s another tacky headline for ya: RAZR i has the EDGE! Ha ha! Now seriously… Yes, the RAZR i has turned out to be the RAZR M with the Intel chip replacing the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 quad-core 1.5 GHz one! So, essentially no new Sci-Fiesque completely borderless magical slab of glass for a phone!

SPECS
The specs look quite decent!

Super AMOLED Advanced 4.3-inch display extends from edge-to-edge with an extreme minimal bezel – giving you more screen for less phone. The resolution is 540 x 960 pixels… qHD! Not bad for a phone that fits in the palm of your hand! It’s compact! The pixel depth is 256 ppi and by all accounts it looks crisp!

RAZR i is the first smartphone that can achieve speeds of 2.0 GHz thanks to a fast Intel® Atom™ processor. Jump from a game to a text and over to a playlist, then off to browse the Web – all without stopping and on a long-lasting battery that is 40 percent more powerful than the iPhone 5 and quite a few of the competition by the looks of it! 20hrs! But I would like to put that to the test!

The camera is pretty decent too, 8MP and it has its own button on the body of the phone! It’s what I would love to see on a Sammy phone – a button on the handset for the camera!

Again, no Jelly Bean, Android 4.1 until later in the year! That’s not too bad! But I have come to expect more from a Google owned company! Hmmm… What’s going on there? At least Jelly Bean is coming in the same year!

That’s just the basic specs… There’s no mention of whether the RAZR i will be 4G LTE compatible… If 4G LTE compatible the RAZR i could very well be a match for the iPhone 5; it’s hard to tell without testing them! At least Motorola got the screen size and resolution right! It looks fast, certainly it promises to be! I crossing my fingers for 4G LTE because the RAZR i could be one of the handsets to go for this year in the UK when 4G arrives in December (I think)!

What do you think? Do you think the RAZR i cuts the iPhone 5 down to size?

Bring on the RAZR i HD Maxx!

ANDROID: ATOMIC

SAMSUNG TO GO THERMONUCLEAR
GOOGLE TO GO MEGATON
HTC ONE X 5

I tell ya, Samsung is gonna make Apple pay! Hahahahaha! I guess the best way to exact revenge is to outclass the competition! Well, we know that Google are planning something to commemorate Android’s second birthday on November 5! There’s speculation that Google are planning on releasing 5 devices by 5 different manufacturers – including Samsung! One thing is for sure… …a new Nexus handset is due and it appears as though Samsung are close to announcing Galaxy Nexus II GT-i9260… Or is that The Nexus Premier?  What? There’s the Galaxy SIV to premiere at the Mobile World Congress in February 2013????

Read on…

ONE STEP BEYOND
From my experience the Nexus models have always been a little underpowered compared to the manufacturing party’s flagship model! I mean, did you bypass the Galaxy Nexus for the Galaxy SIII? Yes, a vanilla Android handset was a wonderful prospect, but after the true iPhone slayer that is the Galaxy SII I wondered what the SIII would bring! I was right to wait! So, the question has to be – now that the iPhone 5 is out – what will Google’s Samsung realized Nexus will bring this time around?

Here’s some spec floating around:

4.65” Super AMOLED HD display
1.5 GHz dual-core Cortex-A9 processor
8MP camera
1.9MP front-facing camera
16 GB expandable storage

or

4.65” HD display
MSM7227A 1-GHz single-core Cortex-A5 processor
8MP
2MP front-facing camera
8 GB / 16 GB expandable storage

Hmmm, I can’t see how such a spec could be called “Premier”… Usually, when a Galaxy product is “leaked” the spec is quite accurate – unlike the look! This time I have a feeling that this “leak” is a ruse and that the actual spec is a little better. There again, that said, the spec is better than the current Galaxy Nexus! The grey area at the moment is the processor!  Let me predict the Galaxy Nexus II…

4.8” HD display
Dual-core Qualcom S4 1.5 GHz processor or Quad-core Exynos 4412 1.4GHz
Definitely an 8MP camera
1.9MP front facing camera
8 GB / 16 GB expandable storage
1 GB internal memory
Of course, it should be running Android 4.1 or a possible surprise Key Lime Pie 5 – 5 November being Android’s second year ‘n’ all!

That’s my prediction! Apparently, LG and Sony will be releasing respective Nexus models too! It’ll be interesting to see where they all slot in with each other! My guess is that either LG or Sony will be the leader of the pack and the Galaxy Nexus II will be the level entry model to not take away from their SIII and I hear (SIII +) and Note II! Samsung should be content!

Releasing multiple Nexus models from Google looks like overkill! Do you think there could be a danger of oversaturation? Would that cause market confusion? On the other hand people do love their brands: Samsung, Sony, LG and so on! Then the question is: How will the different Nexus models stand out – aside from the hardware? As far as I can see it’s Samsung that add the extras! Hardware, I can see that Sony and LG putting out a better camera than what Samsung is offering! LG will probably do the 13MP camera and if Sony is the premium Nexus handset then I see Sony upping the ante with 14 or 16MP!

It’s going to be fever pitch come 5 November!

SAMSUNG RUMOUR II: SIV
I can’t believe that there’s any truth in Samsung showing off the Galaxy SIV in February 2013! The SIII came out May this year, so it wouldn’t be a year… …surely to release the SIV would be at the expense of the already popular SIII???? There again, it could be anger burning in the Samsung headquarters to prove that they are superior over their main rival in terms of technology and design! We might just see preview of the much talked about flexible unbreakable screen technology and I think we’re most likely to see the SIII + instead! If it is the SIV… …wow! That would be some gauntlet! The tech-media have gotten Samsung releases wrong in the past; I doubt that they will have a major release at the Mobile World Congress next year simply because Samsung have chosen to create events all to themselves of late – the SIII in May, Galaxy Note II, 10.1 tablet, ATIV 8, ATIV tablets and Series 9 Notebook in August. Whatever it is they are going to show in Feb 2013 I suspect it’ll be a taster! I for one hope to learn more about their flexible display technology and what the implications are for future handsets!

The SIV rumour is that the handset features a 5” display! If there is some truth in the rumour I can only speculate that it is to bring a device that will, for the first time, work around the globe because the UK is getting 4G LTE at last! As a result Samsung can hit the worldwide marketplace at one time! This move can save Samsung considerably as they have had to release different versions of their handsets to different markets abroad! It would be great for them to be more like Apple in that they can release just the one flagship model! By having one flagship model they can afford to put a better camera on it! Roll on February 2013!

HTC ONE X 5
HTC is at it again and it looks like they will have another hit on their hands if the Flyer tablet was anything to go by! I thought the Flyer tablet was quite good, but too expensive for the market at the time of release! Now that the market has expanded HTC could have that big hit that they’ve always wanted! I am relieved that they haven’t called it something else to confuse people more! I think the One X is their signature device name!

It does look good! I want to try it out! I can’t wait!

2012 is the year of Android for sure!

PROOF OF iPHONE BIAS IN THE MEDIA?

PROOF OF TECH MEDIA BIAS TOWARDS THE iPHONE

Dear Readers,

I know that I must come across as a hater of Apple and the iPhone. I am not! I just don’t understand the way in which they sell it; I’ve already exposed Tim Cook as a liar and confidence trickster. Don’t they understand that the world can see through the lies? The WebNet allows us to look things up – do some fact finding! So, I just don’t get where Apple are coming from? They call Samsung “thieves” as if to say that being a liar is better!

It’s important to back up what I say, so here’s some proof!

WELCOME TO THE SUBLIMINAL TECHNOLOGY SHOW!
There’s this technology show aimed at us Techy Fans that airs in the UK that I used to watch without fail! But as time wore on it didn’t take me long to see that they were delivering a subliminal message to their audience: Buy the iPhone! Sure, they would review other smartphones, but at the end of their whacky tests the message was: Buy the iPhone! Because I know a little about technology the subliminal message – buy the iPhone – didn’t work on me. But it worked on the majority of people. By the end of the show people would be transfixed upon the iPhone.

“Hi! Phone me when you get this subliminal message…”

“I’ve just passed my exam! I’m so happy! I’m so high! Phone granddad and tell him the good news…”

I won’t mess with your beautiful mind anymore… But occasionally I would meet people who think they come from another galaxy! Strange, but 3 people out of 5 believe they come from another galaxy, space and time. Yes, it’s harder for Samsung to do subliminal messages, so they just have to come up with a great phone in the first place!

An apple dropped on Newton’s head and then he could see the galaxy… Alright, alright… Ha ha!

Let’s be analytical…

What does the headline say? It says, sorry… I know you can read! But just indulge me… Thank you!

Samsung Galaxy Nexus 2: iPhone 5 killer incoming?

So, what am I supposed to glean from that? Ah, there’s nothing from Samsung on the market that can beat the latest iPhone? Is it supposed to get me excited about the possibility of yet another Samsung handset?

Take all the emotional sentimentality out the equation when comparing the iPhone 5 and the Galaxy SIII. Look at them strictly from technical standpoint. The iPhone 5 is already dead with such an ill-conceived screen and resolution. Sorry, what was the processor? A6! But what is it? Dual-core? Quad-core? Who cares because the iPhone 5 is dead! Practically all the Android handsets coming this year and the next are going to bury it further and further under!

Hang on… I’ve received a text message…

“Would you like to go urban camping for a few nights outside a well known store in Central London? £200 per day…”

Don’t believe the hype! You can’t kill what’s already dead! You can bury it though!
Quick before it stinks up the place!

IT DOESN'T TAKE A GENIUS!

SAMSUNG’S “ANTI-iPHONE 5” AD: MY REACTION

When I saw the ad yesterday I had to laugh! When I saw some of the tech-media reactions to the ad I laughed even more! Why? Ok, I will divulge…

Again, I have to question the tech-media who say that Samsung got thrashed in court recently to the tune of over $1 billion. It has become clear that there were anomalies during the trial and that the fight is definitely still on! Samsung will appeal! Even co-Apple founder Steve (Good Steve) Wozniak thinks that the unjust ruling will not stick! It shouldn’t! But you can tell where such media get their advertising revenue from! Hee hee hee… What purpose does it serve to write crap like that? Does it serve the writer? No, because it shows that it is not unbiased journalism we’re dealing with here and his / her standards are very, very low and should not be taken seriously.

It shows that some tech-media are influencing their audience in a certain direction. Does such bad journalism serve the medium, be it a periodical, TV show or online media? Only where revenue is concerned! So, the corrupt tech-media gains at the expense of the audience: YOU & Me!

Be very ashamed you bad mediums / journalists (sic). Me? I am not trying to sell you anything! All I can do is just let you know what I think of the products I review. I try to give you the pros and the cons as much as I can. I weigh ‘em up for myself and that I would have given you enough information so that you can weigh the pros and cons for yourself!

iPHONE FANATICS

I am beginning to think that the iPhone “fanatic” is a media invention! I am convinced that Apple hires people to sit outside their stores for the love of being able to say that they were the chosen few! The minds of people can be a strange place to visit and certainly a great source of exploitation! If you watch it on the news you’ll think it’s real and you could follow suit! But I wouldn’t put it past Apple to hire folk to sit outside their stores; if you have been following my blogs you’d see just how much crap ‘n’ lies that go into an Apple keynote presentation.

Am I the only one to have noticed that there is a disparity between surveys on the iPhone 5 (whether you’ll buy it or not), comments on Facebook (not that you can rely 100% on Facebook comments) and overall responses by the people (presumably unhappy iPhone 4S users) and reports to say that the iPhone 5 has broken another record in sales? That’s what they said about the 4S!

The phenomena reminds me of the media invented “Road Rage” that caused a viral outbreak of violence amongst motorists! Once people cottoned on to the fact that the media term was changing the behavior of motorists the term was dropped from the headlines and the bad – often violent – behavior of motorists subsided! I think it is exactly the same thing going on with the “reporting” of iPhone sales! If a majority of the media says it is true then it must be!

Take a look at the survey conducted by a popular online tech-magazine (see results below), shouldn’t the “Definitely! Faster, bigger, yum!” yield a higher percentage than 32%? I would imagine record sales must show at least 70 to 80%! Bear in mind that the results are post-iPhone 5 keynote. We’re living in a post iPhone 5 world! It is phenomenal! Ha ha!

I guess you wanna know…

WHAT DO I THINK OF THE AD?
I feel that Samsung would not have felt the need to create such an ad if the tech-media and the media at large would actually do their job! Again, for the umpteenth time, a majority of the tech-media will not say outright that the iPhone 5 is a piece of crap! Why am I so harsh?

Once again, just so you understand… I am a tech-fan! If the iPhone 5 was the marvel of the mobile world I would be the first to say so. But it is not. The 4” screen is stupid. The new connector and cable will render other accessories useless or there’ll be recourse to an adapter solution that will cost the user. Let’s look at the actual design (again); can you call an elongation of the 4S a “design”? Ok, you may not like the Galaxy SIII design (I didn’t at first and now I love it!) but Samsung has shown progression in the design of the Galaxy S model and it is no wonder that it is selling well! You cannot in your right lucid mind say that the iPhone 5 is a progression in the design – NO FREAKING WAY!!!!! It would have been better for Apple to have left the screen at its original 3.5” than to deliver something that is not in the HD resolution range. But you know this already… Let me find something new to say – that’s what you’re paying me for, right?

Ok, let’s look at the iPhone ‘Passbook’ feature… It looks good, but when you purchase a ticket for travel, theatre, etc you get an email! Every smartphone can receive email and therefore the barcode of the ticket sent by email can be scanned easily! The ‘Passbook’ feature is just something that looks nice, but not necessary! It’s a waste!

There’s no NFC. A “fanboy” reply to the Samsung ad says that email can take its place, but I would like to see someone send a 1GB email!

The iPhone still won’t let its users extend the memory via a microSD card or any other card. Maybe Apple is going to create its very own removable memory in the not too distant future. We’ve got thunder; they have given us lightning so their (possible) removable storage will be called ‘rain’?

Siri seems about the only real improvement in the iPhone and iOS 6; it is more in keeping with Google Now that was released with Android Jelly Bean 4.1. Is Siri better than Samsung’s S Voice? If you want to talk to your phone like Michael Knight does to his legendary car, Kit, then yes. If you want to launch an app, add alarms, get weather information, etc then S Voice is just as good. Ultimately, when the Galaxy SIII receives the Android Jelly Bean upgrade it will have Google Now which is better than Siri! I am sure that Android 5 is on its way and that can boost the power of the SIII even more!

You will not get any sense out of a hardcore Apple / iPhone fan boy or girl; it’s just the way they are and I do not think that Samsung was aiming at such blinkered people! C’mon, think about it… Samsung are intelligent to come up with an amazing handset or handsets when you take their top of the range into account: Galaxy Beam and Note II – things that Apple couldn’t conceive because they wait to capitalize on the ideas of others! They don’t have original ideas for themselves. Are you telling me that Samsung aimed that ad at iPhone fanatics? NO!!!! It’s aimed at the so called tech-media who can’t tell the truth for fear of losing ad revenue! They skirt around the issue, but they don’t get right on it!

Samsung’s ad shows that Apple can’t design and what they call “innovation” is just hype! Passbook is just hype for the reasons above! They do not make their own technology; what they do is look at what others are doing i.e. Google and Samsung and buy up similar technologies of others and call it their own. Siri is not an Apple technology and Google / Samsung featured Voice Command & Search before the 4S. The maps that they use are not theirs! It’s only right that Samsung should address the media’s inability to do their jobs without bias. It’s like, “Yes, the Samsung Galaxy SIII is a great phone, but the iPhone 5 is what people love and will always love until the end of time…” Yeah, right! That’s horsepoop!

iPhone 4S users – the ones who fell for the hype last year – not the fanatics are looking at the Galaxy SIII and Note I & II and ask, “Why can’t Apple do that?”

The answer is: Apple can’t otherwise they would have done it already! It doesn’t take a genius to work that one out!

NEW MOBILE RELEASES 2013

THE WAVE OF NEW HANDSET RELEASES 2012

Yes indeed… Christmas is coming… Can you think of a better gift that shows how much you care than a decent smartphone?

“Now we can WhatsApp each other, babe… Isn’t that fantastic?”

What’s happening?

INTEL & MOTOROLA ON THE EDGE

Goodness me! Motorola just recently launched their new Droid RAZR range in New York (and all have iPhone 5 beating specs)! And it seems as though they are going to launch a new product here in London on the 18 September! Now is it possible that it’s going to be a European version of the Droid RAZR M with the Intel processor instead of the Qualcomm S4? There was this hype surrounding a bezel-free handset that consists of all glass! I am sure that it can be done, but I think from that I have seen of the Droid RAZR M this is as far as Motorola are able to take it!

There again, why would Motorola make such a big deal of the London launch? They must be aware that we can find out information on the Netweb, right? You can see the New York event via YouTube! Maybe they are going to launch a new model for real? That would be weird if it turns out to be the Droid RAZR M after the anticipation they are creating! Yep, like a true tech-fan I am a little excited to know what this new handset is about!

But I don’t want to get your hopes up too! A part of me thinks that it will be the Droid RAZR M with an Intel processor!

I have to say that I am baffled by Motorola’s output! Don’t get me wrong the latest Droid RAZR family is excellent – especially the Droid RAZR HD Maxx, but I was expecting some groundbreaking designs from them! I guess this is why I am hoping for Motorola to break the mould, escape the boundaries come September 18! Perhaps if this is indeed the RAZR M with Intel inside then it could very well be that the other two phones will be released with the Intel chip instead of Qualcomm! Don’t fall off the edge of your seats!

COME SKYFALL

Y’know what? I have never considered a Sony handset before… I was put off by a Sony Ericson that I had a few years back… It’s funny what a previous experience can do! It’s also why I haven’t considered a Nokia of late… Anyway, Sony will drop their Android Xperia T around 27-29 September. The handset will be featured in the new James Bond movie, ‘Skyfall’ – don’t get me started… All I can say about ‘Skyfall’ is that it appears to be an unwelcome return to the tongue-in-cheek Bond of old! Oh well… …yes, I have an opinion on just about everything! Ha ha!

The spec on the Xperia T looks fairly good…

SCREEN
4.6" - scratch-resistant TFT, 16 million colours, 1280 x 720 pixels

SYSTEM & PROCESSOR
Google Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)
1.5 GHz Qualcomm MSM8260-A Dual Core processor

BATTERY
Talk time (up to): 7 hours
Standby time (up to): 450 hours
Music listening time (up to): 16 hours
Video playback time (up to): 5 hours

CAMERA
13 megapixel camera with auto focus
16x digital zoom, pulsed LED flash

What can I say? Critically, I wonder why Jelly Bean Android 4.1 isn’t on it… …I expect it will be upgraded in due time. The camera looks good, it’s not clear how many megapixels you get with the front facing camera. It has a dual-core when the competition are touting quad! Hmmm, what else? Nope! Nothing else critical that I can say other than it seems to be a budget conscious handset with strong multimedia features with the main 13MP camera and ability to shoot full HD video! Sony should know how to deliver a decent camera on a handset! Oh, I know… Will it be compatible with 4G LTE? It doesn’t appear to be the case.

It also features NFC (near field communication) for easy file sharing and there’s a way to beam your video content to a TV via Screen Mirroring based on certified WiFi Miracast (expected in late 2012). You will need an Adapter for your TV to enable Screen Mirroring. Otherwise there is a minHDMI port to connect to your TV! Plus you will get 50BG of cloud storage space from Box! Nice!

Again, being critical of the latest iPhone 5, you should have observed that it is incapable of NFC! I honestly can’t tell you enough that I find the iPhone 5 so backward! If you are thinking about shelling out for an iPhone 5 you ought to definitely wait to see what else is coming on the market! Certainly, I would hang on for the possibility of the next Nexus handset or handsets come November 5!

OPPO
Gosh! Gee! Yes, there’s a new member to the Open Handset Alliance (OHA): Oppo! If you didn’t know, Oppo are a Chinese based telecommunications corporation looking to establish itself in the US and Europe markets! I mentioned in the ‘iDecieve’ blog that Oppp has the prestige title of the world’s thinnest handset! Well, they have several handset models that could be this year’s surprise innovative manufacturer after Samsung and HTC – in fact the way HTC are going at the moment there’s every Opportunity (I couldn’t resist) that they could leapfrog over HTC! Why? Ok… I will tell you why! Grab some coffee…

CONCEPT
From the little I have seen of their products they look very, very appealing! They look like the concept models that you see budding designers release in anticipation of iPhone (wishful thinking in the case of the iPhone) and Galaxy models. So, I can see Apple wetting their panties again over some of the Oppo range! Apple will somehow try to claim that the designs are theirs! I know I know… …it’s not me, it’s Apple – that’s their modus operandi! But in any event Apple designers can’t possibly claim that the Oppo Finder X907 looks similar to iPhone concept designs – especially when taking the latest iPhone into consideration: they only have one design (they’ve just elongated it)!

Oppo handsets have the desirability factor because they look stunning! They look as though they can take the market by storm! It’s just a matter of when their products will come to the US and European marketplace.

The Find 5 is a 5" phablet sporting a true full HD 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, boasting a brilliant 441 ppi pixel density. I believe that this is the highest ppi pixel density handset in the world; the Retina display comes in at an impressive 326 ppi! Again, there's no word of when it'll be coming to the UK or US. It is said to have the following: Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor. It could be that it'll have 2GB of RAM as well as 16 GB of storage and possibly an 8MP camera at the back. When it is released it is set to give the Galaxy Note II a run for its money!

However, sometimes it’s not all about the hardware. Uh-uh! It’s about what these babies can do! For example the Galaxy Note II has an enhanced S Pen that gives the user a deeper level of interaction, if that’s not enough there’s also a suite of software that combines text, images and video into a PDF document that exists on no other handset! If you are familiar with the workings of the Galaxy SIII then you will know how practical Samsung makes its premium handsets! I would love for the Note II to have a full HD screen resolution, etc but it’s about functionality. What do you want from your handset?

Another aspect to the Find 5 is whether it’ll be 4G LTE ready. There are no other details at this moment!

We’re stepped into the realms of Science Fiction in terms of the amazing things a phone can do besides making calls!

I would like to know what makes the Finder 5 unique in its software!

HP BENDER
Through the tech grapevine, there’s yet another rumour that HP is going to release a smartphone of its own soon! Remember their now defunct WebOS? I guess not many people do, WebOS is a distant memory and now HP appear to be ready to enter the smartphone arena once more! Codenamed, Bender (presumably after the loveable rogue robot on Futurama) is said to feature a screen resolution of 1366 x 720 with 1.5 GHz on each of its Snapdragon CPU cores. Dual or quad? No idea at this stage…Or could Bender be a tablet? Stay tuned!

HTC 5” TABLET

Rumours are circulating that HTC are about to drop a 5” tablet or phablet! I would imagine that after the success of Samsung’s Galaxy Note, HTC and other manufacturers are looking to get piece of that action! It could be that they will be revealing this new phablet 19 September! Only two days to find out!

Freedom of Choice!

WOZNIAK FOR APPLE CEO!

APPLE NEEDS TO STAND DOWN
No, I don’t mean that Apple should quit producing anymore iPhone models. The smartphone world NEEDS Apple and Apple NEEDS the smartphone world too – only it’s so far up its own rabbit hole that they can’t see it yet! Why? Why can’t Apple see it? Well, I am glad you asked… I don’t mind if I do… You wanna grab some coffee?

GREAT EXPECTATIONS
Again, for those who think that I am an Apple and iPhone hater I have one thing to say: YOU’RE WRONG!!!!

There’s no doubt in my mind that Apple have revolutionized the mobile device world and I salute them for that! They’ve made headlines around the world and it is not without good reason. However, I think Apple’s tremendous success have done to their heads. They’ve become pompous, pretentious and stagnant. This, I believe, is the King’s new clothes scenario. I had to laugh when I saw the video clip of the iPhone designer waxing about the “design”; I thought to myself, ‘Dude, do you realize that all you have done is just elongated the phone and made it thinner?’

iPhone designer: “The iPhone 5 was a great challenge… Blah de blah blah blah de blah blah…”

Really? Get over yourself! Is this what an MBE or whatever does to you? C’mon! Why don’t you open your eyes and close your bottom end! You’re just blowing smoke! You guys can consider yourselves so, so very lucky that you have the fan base that you have! I can see that things like iTunes and iCloud (is it iCloud) makes for a nice ecosystem cosy lounge that people are afraid or have become too complacent to leave…

Former iPhone user: “Hey, I can buy the CD directly from the artist and create a better quality MP3 all by myself… Wow! Gosh, Google Drive, Dropbox…”

Yes, there’s a brave new world out there… Hahahaha!

Like I said in the ‘iDecieve’ blog, it’s a sad day when you have lie to sell. Trust me, I know all about lying to people because I worked in telesales. My excuse is that I had to reel off a script! What’s Tim Cook’s excuse?

I know the cause in Apple’s case… They have become tedious and they know it! What they don’t know is what to do about it. They’ve tried litigation and that has backfired on them. They’ve derided the competition and it has made people opt for the competition even more. They’ve purposely leaked the iPhone 5 in order to let their audience down gently! I don’t believe for 2 seconds that Apple has sold out of pre-orders for the iPhone 5! iThink that’s just one of their patented marketing strategies: say it and they’ll believe it! And more importantly, buy into it!

Do you honestly think that gushing over a store opening is innovation? C’mon!

THINK DIFFERENTLY AGAIN
The most gracious loser end up being the winner of a good lesson or two! The trouble with Apple is that it’s in a chokehold and it would rather break its neck than admit defeat. So they keep struggling just for the sake of appearance.

It’s funny; I wrote in another blog that it would be so great for all involved if Apple, Google and any other manufacturer could just share the patents. I said that I was dreaming and it turns out that I wasn’t the only one! Steve Wozniak – Good Steve as I have dubbed him – said more or less the same thing yesterday (iThink, so therefore iCould be wrong… iWrite a lot as you’ve probably noticed…).

Let me give you a metaphor to think about regarding Apple so called “patents”… Do you like music? Good! I do too! Now imagine your not-so-favourite music artist being granted a patent for all the musical chord combinations whereby your favourite music artist gets sued every time he / she release a song. It’s insane, right? That’s exactly what’s happening with the patents regarding interfacing with a touchscreen device. In protecting what Apple see’s as their “patents” they have missed the goal completely. What should have continued the iPhone legacy has temporarily stalled it. All the beautiful innards of the iPhone 5 are wasted on the exterior. Apple / Tim Cook talks crap and when you talk crap you create it too!

I’m not an iPhone fan and even I felt let down with their latest offering.

The question is: Will Apple come off their high horse and share the touchscreen patents? I am sure that Google wants to! Because of what Apple has been doing they (Google) feel that they should have been like Apple and patented as much of their technology as possible. I am sure, obviously I can’t know for certain, Google would like to share the technology and stop the Litigation War over minor technologies such as ‘rubber band’, ‘swipe to unlock’, etc. Wouldn’t the iPhone 5 look cool with ‘Face Unlock’?

Take Samsung and HTC for example, they come up with a new design for their flagship products. Samsung took a big risk with their Galaxy SIII design! When I first saw it I was so disappointed. I thought it looked cheap and plastic! Like I have said many times, it’s a totally different experience when it’s in my hands! What Apple does is to keep going on about the SIII plastic body in a way to suggest that it’s cheap. When we think about plastic probably the first thing that comes to mind is a plastic shopping bag. Now does the Galaxy SIII look like it’s made from a shopping bag?

I can’t deny that the iPhone looks good in terms of materials, but I think it’s not worth the upfront fee. I don’t like upfront fees – especially when I am on a 2 yr contract! What do they want, blood? Not just Apple but the networks too! If I had to pay an upfront fee for a handset I would rather put the money on an advanced handset such as the SIII or Note II – if I had to! Don’t get any ideas networks!

The iPhone 5 is kinda retro, the Galaxy S had a 4” screen back in 2010! Hahahaha! But because Apple has been derisive towards these beautiful 4.7” and above they can’t give their fans a decent, proper HD screen that they deserve for their allegiance. I don’t have anything against iPhone fanatics! They deserve the best! I feel that Apple have let them down and all because of their pigheaded vanity!

Apple could do one of two things:

1. Tim Cook should apologize for being a pompous ass and end the Litigation War.
2. Hire Steve Wozniak to replace Cook as CEO. Good Steve has his heart in the right place!

Once the above have been sorted out Apple can really show what they can do! Personally, I think that Apple ought to hire a new designer for future iPhones. Can you imagine what would happen if Samsung was commissioned to design the next iPhone? I think sales would be out of this world!

Competition is important, but it has to be healthy! Wouldn’t you feel like an ass if you were trying to destroy the competition with your best efforts only for the competition to benefit? That is exactly what Apple has done and it needs so very badly to recognize it and stop for the sake of their fans – for the sake of technology fans in general! They can gain so much more from it! More sales and respect from their peers!

Rethink Differently!

LG GEE WHIZ!

LG OPTIMUS G

Gee whiz, here comes a hot smartphone that looks like it is going to rock the boat! Could the LG Optimus G knock Samsung’s Galaxy SIII off the top spot? It has just come to my mind that it’s not only that Samsung has managed to deliver the top Android handset this year; it is top of the whole smartphone world! It’s likely that the iPhone 5 sales might beat it, but as a real challenge to the Galaxy SIII I would say hell-to-the no!

LG are kind of weird of late… What I mean is that they have announced a lot of products of which not many have arrived in the UK!

My favourite LG handset is the L3, it was unannounced and I discovered it whilst in a phone shop! But what happened to the Vu? The Vu looked so promising? I am surprised to learn of the imminent LG Optimus G… Read on…

A TRANSFORMATION?
The iPhone 5 cat was let out of the bag well before the 12 September and it’s truly a bizarre machine… A 4” screen with a non-HD resolution is something that is quite obscene. Do you know what a mean? It’s the ugliest phone I have ever seen… Enough with my Cat in a Hat…

It seems to me that every high-end Android phone trounces the iPhone in screen (a foregone conclusion), RAM, external storage capacity and, without a shadow of a doubt, the Android operating system! The Android operating system just keeps getting better and better. So, what can we expect from the Optimus G?

Are you frothing at the mouth?

Certainly, the above spec is better than that of the iPhone 5! The one aspect that people might go for straight away is the camera! Did you notice anything in particular about the camera beyond 13MP? Yes, LED video light! What a great feature!

Could it tempt me away from upgrading to the Galaxy SIII or Galaxy Note II? I don’t know… I’ll have to test it!

It looks remarkably similar to the Galaxy SII!
